Playing around with some of the code examples from 'Learning Processing' by Daniel Shiffman.
This one uses my Mac's iSight as input and renders each pixel as a circle instead. The radius is a function of the brightness of that pixel.
You can't see it from the screenshot, but it's actually a live feed. Kinda like an iChat video effect on steroids.

I've played with this - totally fun, yet I have no idea what I would use it for yet.

While tweaking a previous Processing sketch to make use of different input (photos in this case), I added some shortcuts to control density and quite liked the painterly result.
