Mixed Symbolism

We recently completed a mark for Codeup, a bootcamp that teaches people from all walks how to code.

We wanted to push some symbolism into this mark without being corny, so we kept things as simple as possible and kind of left it up to the viewer to see what they wanted to. Using a pentagon as the foundational shape, we did a “C” and a “U,” and oriented them together to be “up and to the left,” the idea of positive growth. It's no accident the mark also can be read as “>.”
