    Joey the noise is just for style to contrast the smooth clean feel in the cells. The Nav Bar also ties it in a bit. Also keep in mind this is a retina display mock (@2x) and on the screen the noise texture is barely noticeable. :)

    The white drop shadow on the text was just to help it be a little more legible, but I've resolved this issue by making the cells white.
