    Hi Martin,

    nice work indeed.

Try a different border radius, it looks a bit "pressed"

    Hey Martin,

While this looks nice aesthetically, there are some serious problems with the UI. For this critique, I am making the assumption that what we are seeing is some sort of modal pop-up that indicates a voice recording. The UI appears to give two actions in this interaction: record and close (the "x"). These two actions are way too close given a) the destructive nature of the close button, and b) the importance of the record button.

    Questions to answer:

    1) When a user hits the record button, does it become a pause or stop button? If so, does closing out this UI element with the X let the recording continue or does it stop/pause the recording? How does one know which is the case?

    2) The same question for the text message UI element. Does clicking into it stop/pause the recording process? Does it cause the recording element to be removed?

My biggest concern is the proximity of the two actions. A user, especially on a touch device, could easily think they're hitting record when they're actually closing out the UI element, and vice versa.

Please take my critique with a grain of salt. I admit to making some rather uneducated assumptions. I don't know what "Hold and S" means. I don't even know if the purpose of this UI element is what I think it is. I just thought I'd offer a bit of input in the case that my assumptions are correct.

As I said, aesthetically this is gorgeous. The colours you're using are vibrant, the gradients are subtle and clean. The type is simple and elegant. There's a lot that's great about this shot.

Hope this little exercise helped! Again, feel free to challenge anything I say. I'm just a bystander with a few extra minutes in the morning :)

    All the best,
    Pat

I'm guessing "Hold and S" is really "Hold and Slide", and I"m guessing you're likely sliding the top control over the top of the "X".

    Looks good!
