Acts - The World Turned Upside Down

Acts, The World Turned Upside Down was our main sermon series for the year 2020. The big idea surrounding the series was trying to highlight the fact that a rag tag bunch of disciples took a message and a mission and ended up influencing not only the largest city in the world–Rome, but in fact would found Christianity and impact the entire world.

Typically we come up with the title of the series first and the the graphics flow out of that. Using the subtitle “the world turned upside down” was a little risky because so many people would connect it to the Hamilton song, but ultimately we decided that it described the series the best way.

Once we landed on the title I started to think of how to portray it visually and this was one of the times when the idea came right away. I had seen some surreal photos created by Cream Electric Art depicting an “Inception-like” landscape that I knew would fit perfectly with our theme. After that all I needed to do was to find the perfect images and use some photoshop magic to manipulate them into the perfect position.
