Crisp crasp, not relly that original considering they look very much like Apple iWork-ish icons, or something like that. But I like it!

I think it goes against the HIG using controls in an icon (the preferences icon, I assume), so you may want to try something new.
These are great, though. Love your style.

You're absolutely right. Icons should be metaphorical, not literal. This preferences icon is an alternative icon I made mostly for fun. The "real" preferences icon uses the more conventional light switch metaphor.
Thanks man! I'm a big fan of your work, by the way. Your set Classica is what got me interested in icon design in the first place.
