Okay I need the assistance of my fellow Dribbblers here. I'm working on a simple piano-related iPhone app, and I'm having trouble with figuring out the style for the two buttons in the top right (they're used for cycling through chord inversions). I can't seem to nail a style I like for them. I tried the brushed metal like the play button, but it doesn't work as well, probably cause they're not round.

So anyway, any help or ideas would be appreciated! (And of course advice/comments on any other part of the design). Here's a link to the full version: http://cl.ly/1Y0W0y1O0a1R231V163Y

    Thanks!

Without knowing the rest of the functionality, this might not work, but here is an idea:

It looks like the LCD screen displays the current chord, and the play button (I assume) plays it? What makes more sense to me from a usability standpoint is to put the chord navigation buttons to the left and right of the LCD screen, or better yet, within the LCD screen, the make the visual connection that much stronger.

@Anthony Hmm, that is a good idea indeed. I'm not sure if they would work in the LCD since it might not be evident enough that they're controls. But I do like the idea of placing them to either side of the screen, so I'll give that a try. Thanks!

Made some modifications to the sharp keys, and also to the top bar controls as per @anthonydines' suggestion. I absolutely like the feel of the chord inversion buttons better now, the only thing I'm worried about is that users might be confused in thinking that they can use those buttons to cycle through whole different chords, when they can't- those are used for cycling through inversions of the selected chord.
