#2: Runner tickets
Another Annoncer feature for 1.5 Jalapeño: runner tickets! It may seem a little bit counter intuitive, but our digital ticket board will be able to print paper tickets.
There are some use cases however for which we need to provide just the info that is needed for the waiter. You don't need the entire ticket with all orders for a table, but you do want to know what it is that you serve, and if there are any attention points.
The design of a printed ticket is limited to monospace characters, fixed-width lines single color and limited layout/styling possibilities. This was a real challenge to make it look as nice as possible. From now on, I love box drawing characters!
This GIF was really fun to make, but it is also the quirkiest to look at. Because it's less about what's happening in the UI, I had a little bit more freedom of interpretation. I like how the printing animation worked out! :-)
