YouTube UX Audit & Redesign

At the beginning of 2019 I began a personal audit of my most visited website and app of all time: YouTube.

After nearly two decades of using the service, I had accumulated a lot of experience and insight on the tech debt and user experience of the platform, but rather than begrudgingly acknowledging them, I decided to dive deep, conduct competitive audits, user interviews, research, and prototypes to seek improvement.

I kept this to myself, as unsolicited feedback was never my vibe, but after over a year of that, and seeing YouTube implement some of these very changes, I became encouraged to share my work as I felt my findings more validated.
