Still WIP, Need to add some glyps on the top toolbar, indicators on the contact list, etc...

As i said before, the distinction between contacts and conversations could be more pronounced.
Also, im guessing the recessed contact is the current chat?

Very nice! :) I'd make the radius on the corner of the window a little more rounded for that new-Lion look :)
Where your name is, I think it would be nicer if you could change your status (Online, Away, Busy, ect) rather than your account too as most people only have the one. :p

@Christopher between different protocols, I'm using 6 accounts in Adium atm. ;)
But yeah, make is so that one can change their status or set a custom one from the toolbar.
Also, for the contacts, why not use a small image or something to indicate the status of the contacts (like ichat and adium). Many protocols allow for status text, you could use the second line for that :)

Definitely like the idea behind this.
I'm scared now chris has said Lion has larger border radius' but we'll see I guess!
I agree with putting a menu where your name is to change status plus a lot of names would get truncated up there. Even if that column could be widened to fit longer names, it's not a column most people will want very big.
The bottom of the gradient for "available" I would probably make a bit darker to give it a bit more definition against the background too.
Aside from that I think it all looks good and is definitely a good start!

Took all the feedback and started applying them.
• Status message with the status color (Away, available and busy using orange, green and red)
• added a hide sidebar glyph
• not too much noise
• Snow Leopard window shape (based on the new mail app)
Soon a fullscreen shot, still need to work on the chat side.
So... What you guys think about it?
