- Fixed some layering issues that made the logo incorrect. (Must have missed them last night.)
- Added some more inner shadow's between the swooshes.
- Removed some layer style I had applied that looked stupid.
@ Zach - Yarr! One piece of advice if you are going to use a texture. It can make or break the graphic. Choosing the best one(s) is key to matching the vision in your head. I should post some of the textures I was playing with to get the look, it was loltastic.
It looks good, but I feel like the heavy texture on the bounding box doesn't match the smoothness of the blue swooshes. I feel like the blue swooshes should be more translucent and ethereal to match the tactile feel the box has. Great work regardless though.
@ Casey - Hey, thanks for the compliment and feedback, I can understand that. Though, It was more of a take on their current branding (clean and metal) and just taking it up a notch without changing the current logo.
Regardless of the materials of each, my goal was to make the icon feel beefier and really tangible. If the logo was ethereal, it either wouldn't be ethereal enough to really make a difference, or it would be too ethereal and degrade the impact of the logo popping out.
The difference in materials though are what make this pop. I would simplify the frame before I touched the logo, it's all about the logo. If there wasn't beefy textures, it wouldn't feel blizzard imo.
That's hot! Have you tried putting a glowing sphere in the middle? Like an atom! Haha that's what I can see coming out of it! Anyways, that's awesome man.

Now that is some nice texture! Looks awesome, man. Sweet lighting, too, I might add.
Going to study this one, looks like there's a lot here I can learn from here.

Johnny I always love your stuff! Perhaps it's because I'm an avid game fan/creator but whatever it is I think this is great. Keep it up!

I'm going to work on some "for real" sizes, to see if it actually is cooler when it's small. Watch it sucks balls.

Smells Starcraft.

Yeah, battlenet inherently shares a similar color scheme to, at least the menu portion of StarCraft 2.
