E.H. Shepard Pooh Bear Study

I feel like my pens and brushes have been somewhat hard to lift lately, if you get my meaning. Perhaps a little master study of one of my favorite illustrators, E. H. Shepard, might get me drawing again?

Shepard's original drawings of Winnie the Pooh are charming and masterful in their relaxed simplicity. I find myself driven to put too much precision and detail in my linework, and I actually had to loosen up a bit to try and approach Shepard's delightful style.

It's also worth noting what a funny scene this is, as the hundred acre wood is flooding, and Pooh, the silly old bear, is hoarding his honeypots. (This would be me, but with Chips and Salsa) He might be drenched, and with no-place to sleep, but he's darn sure not going through all of that hungry. 🖊 🍯
