I like #2 also. What if that bottom curve of the g (descender) continues instead of cut off? Also maybe add a soft shadow where the t's stem overlaps the g. For the logotype, a heavier weight of Avenir?
...a reminder of why it has taking me so long to actually come up with a logo. I think it's normal for designers not to have a logo because of so many options and pickiness.
