This is my dribbble debut so please go easy on me!
I am trying to redo my logo and I'm having trouble settling on a final version. I was hoping to get some advice, criticism, or direction. I am currently redoing my website and I plan on carrying the birds and brackets throughout the design.
I like #1 a lot. I was a little concerned that with half of the birds being behind the letters in my last name that they may not come across as being birds.
One of my first personal identities was very similar although less texture and since my first name is longer "Christopher" I stretched across the span of the brackets resting on "Hein" and I used the opposite color as you orange. Very nice totally loving the birds do they have some symbolism?
Since this is your first shot I'm not really sure the style you have or are trying to portray for your work although the way your first name is it seems very playful and young and last name feels a bit more sturdy and hmmm I guess more computerized but the texture helps tie them together if that's meaning anything to you... But overall they look good I'd move forward with the first one but make the birds bigger, I'm not big on the shadow that's being cast on the tail of them maybe just a little subtler, it's good they have some definition but maybe a little less dark.
Brandon, i thought the same thing about using one color at first but it makes the logo feel really flat. It does look decent on white but with the textured background I want to use in my site it just doesn't lend itself well.
I like that it's nice and simple. I did like the birds also but when it came to using them elsewhere as graphic elements it started to feel forced. Plus they never had a real meaning to me, they were just visually appealing.
My new site is up! Stop over and take a look so you can see my logo in context: www.josephhunter.net

I think #1 without the brackets could look awesome.

I see what you are saying. Maybe if you made the bird on the right slightly bigger it would be little more easier to recognize?

I'm curious how this looks on white, and in one color too! I'm greedy, I always want more. :)

Here is the finalized version of my logo.
