The power button looks really cool, but I'm not sure it makes sense as a login button, especially since it appears already on. There isn't really anything else it could do though, so I imagine there wouldn't be too much confusion.
I think you should make it close the browser window when you click the power button off :)

I started using this power buttons 8 years ago and users never had problems with them. And button is glowed specially only for this screen, its hover state, you can see it like this only onmouseover, normally is not glowing.
