The Girl with the Long Scarf's Firefly Garden

This was the second Long Scarf series illustration I made, and it took much longer for me to make. I was experimenting with several concepts that were newer to me, like how to create scene lighting and adding depth into a scene through scaling. My brother loved the first illustration in the series so much that he sent me a list of common traits among the bedtime stories he tells his daughter. The list is as follows:
She lives in a village near a "big, huge, giant, tall-as-the-sky wall.

On one side of the wall, there is a big slide she uses to get down.

There are flying pirate ships and cloud castles.

She has a magic garden.

Her scarf changes colors.

She has a white kitten named Milk.

For this scene, I chose to incorporate the color-changing scarf, the magic garden, and the white kitten named Milk. I have ideas for the other key features, too, and I would one day love to use them in an actual book, but for now I'm taking a break from the series to experiment with other techniques.
