I see some kind of gigantic grey see monster / whale that is swimming underneath the city in some kind of river and is about to pop out from the ground and lay waste to everything it encounters. But thankfully the last remnants of humanity gather together and hold on to hope and soon realise, after one last final attempt to defeat the beast, that the whale is afraid of fire, and so they throw fire at it and it gets all freaked out and goes away. There'll probably be someone that films it all on their phone too and it will make a great movie (maybe the sequel to Cloverfield). Either that or something to do with caring for the city.
