    Hey everyone - we just released a new demo for Olympia Rising. You can play it here: http://or.paleozoic.com

    We fixed a lot of the issues/complaints from the first demo, added some new areas, created new levels, and did a bunch of other tweaking. Feel free to send us any feedback you have via the comment box beneath the game window.

    Hey man - really like the style - any advice on getting started with pixel art?

    @Marty Lofberg Thanks, man!

    My advice: find pixel styles you really like - whether they be samples from an artist's portfolio, or from some games you really dig - and then emulate them. You'll bring out your own little quirks and ideas as you work.

    You can also just try taking characters or images you like, and pixeling over them to practice shading and understanding how even a single displaced pixel can alter an entire shape or object.

    I recommend using GraphicsGale for pixel work, but Photoshop works, too!

    It can be an extremely frustrating medium, but it's extremely gratifying to make something cool!

    Good luck!

    cheers @Phil Giarrusso always been one of my fav art styles - but wasn't sure how to go about it - also animation seemed quite daunting - no tweens! :)

    @Marty Lofberg Animation can be daunting, for sure. Just gotta have some patience. You learn simple tricks fast by observing and practicing - tricks that bring a lot of life to simple characters. I pretty much had zero animation experience before starting this game - but you learn quickly when you've got so many assets to produce!
