The Old Fashioned print is inspired by the American cocktail dating back to 1806 of the same name. Some say the Old Fashioned was derived from the first American cocktail referred to as the Bitter Sling.
Through the 1800's there were many variations of the Old Fashioned until around the 1880's when a Louisville based bartender concocted his own variation of the popular cocktail and brought it to the Waldort-Astoria bar in New York City.
This recipe is the Old Fashioned that we know today using Kentucky Bourbon with bitters and sugar, muddled with orange and cherries.
