    In Asian culture the lion is usually a sign of protection. You can often times see these in statue-form stationed outside of Chinese buildings, houses, and restaurants. They are usually in pairs and considered guardians of the dwelling they are in front of. I used this in an NBA graphic for the Golden State Warriors, as they have a large population of asian fans (from Chinatown and other surrounding areas).
