This Interface look really good :). But I must agree with Joakim. The arrow symbolizes in the most applications "refresh" or "reload". Wich symbol will start the search prozess the magnifier or the arrow?
Thomas, it was supposed to be a "loading-arrow" that would spin while the search was running, but I totally agree with you; right now it simply looks like a refresh-button, which doesn't really makes much sense.
I've actually never seen the website you are referring to before in my life. But this kind of sidebar has become pretty popular, so I'm not really surprised to see something similar in another design - I'm sure you could find plenty of examples. :)
I sense some kind of condescension in your comment, however I personally do not necessarily consider popular design to be less artistic or less great simply because it is popular.
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion but I don't see this discussion going anywhere.
Great work Mads! Honestly I think your design style on the blue sidebar navigation is way better than campaign monitor website, lots of attention to subtle details.
Really, really nice work! How about, instead of removing the spinning arrow completely, have it replace the magnifying glass while the search is running? It would give immediate feedback to the user, letting them know the search is in progress.
When the search is complete, the icon could then return to its usual state :)

Looks really good, but I'm not sure if the arrow in the search field is needed.

You're totally right... It's purely aesthetic. :)

If it appears while the search is in proccessing, then it's a really good idea and shows the user that the website works on his results. Nice :)

It totally reminds me of campaign monitor (especially because the sidebar navigation). I'll let you decide if that is a good or a bad thing ;)

I'm sure you could. I'm also sure that if you don't find that a big enough reason to revise your design, it utterly obsolete trying to convince you otherwise :).
Btw I was referring to this: http://www.campaignmonitor.com/features/make-and-send-great-looking-emails/
