I decided to make a simple lock screen to test my skills. This is probably more for android than for iOS but I haven't designed it specifically for one of the two.

This looks sweet i think you did a good job, but i think the 3 icons by the bottom don't need to have a blurred background.
If you think they won't stand out enough, then i would give them a very soft drop shadow. :)
Thanks for the feedback @Frederik Hansen !
No problem, keep pushing those pixels - you clearly make very high quality work mate. :)
Very nice & clean.
Thank you @Rom Mar
I really like this one. If you share the wallpaper I'll build a working version for Android :)
It should work with other wallpapers as well :)
Do you mind explaining the functionality of the bottom part of the screen?
i'd like a battery indicator on my lock screen. :)
Its also not clear how to unlock a phone. At least not from this static image.
@Mitchell Bernstein Those icons are notifications, they indicate: missed calls, unread messages, updates.
@Anton Kudin Ah! you're right! Forgot about that! What a shame.
So clean, simple, sharp, beautiful.. I can go on forever with adjectives! Great Job Mark.
Disagree with @Frederik Hansen - the blur looks fantastic. A drop shadow doesn't allow for quite as much legibility in this case.
How would it look with a pure white background?
@Joe Martinez I guess you would have to change the settings and let the text and icons become black. :)
Great stuff man.
There are indeed some usability issues, but boy, is this a good starting point! :) thumbs up!
You're getting dribbble famous! ;) Great work
