Messing around with ideas for a potential side project. Thoughts?

I dig the lettering here. "The" feels a tad lost, but it could be the wire cutting through it that's throwing me.

Nice Type! I love that look and feel. The "L" on Legion might need to be refined a little. The last curve up next to the "g" seems a little rough. And maybe opening up the space where the "g" loops back up to connect to the "I" could be helpful too! Seems to get a little tight.

    Great work so far!

@Maria Frey & @Leanne Kawahigashi Awesome, thank you! This is exactly the kind of feedback I am looking for... it feels close but not exactly right. Looking for places that I need to tweak.

I echo Leanne's suggest about smoothing out the 'L'. Aside from that, I see nothing else to nitpick. Keep going :)

I dig the lettering, would be interesting to see a take with the strokes made with something that looks like a natural brush.

Looks really nice! Seconding what's been said about the L in Legion and the g - the L's final curve under the i could use to be a bit more round and smooth, the g's connector to the i could use a bit more space.

Overall, I think the curves could use to be a bit smoother and a bit rounder (the beginning stroke of L in Local, the upper curve of the c in Local, most of the loops on the L's, etc).

Have you thought about a heavy serif (clarendon comes to mind, offhand) for the 'THE?' It could help it read a bit better.

That's all nitpitcky, though. It looks super classy and would be fine for most clients/launching/etc - there's always time to iterate after launching!

It's a really good start. I'm with @Beth Dean - wondering if a more hand-drawn direction would give it more life. It feels a little mathematical to me at present. Also, it's hard to know if the direction is appropriate without knowing more about the project itself... can you tell us anything, or is it strictly under wraps?

Also, maybe more work on the interlocking L shapes might give you a simplified logo kinda device, apart from the rest of the script.

    Keep going!

Overall nice look, Samantha! "Local Legion" has a nice ring to it, and the double "L"s play well together.

I agree about smoothing out the curves in a few places, especially where the base of the "L"s starts to dip down, and where it rounds off in "Legion". Definitely want to address the tangent between the top "L" and the cable. It was the first place my eye went to, and becomes very distracting. Also, I wonder if the photo has to be so dark. I start to explore to what's going on in the image, and it's a bit hard to read. Push for rock-solid compositions that allow both the image and text to intermingle a bit more. With images of photogenic SF and this great lettering you have going, you shouldn't have any problem–honest, no sarcasm :)

Thanks for sharing. Keep up the awesome work.
