This is Winter. It's the simply native Twitter experience for Windows, coming soon to a PC near you.
I spent a few hours this morning designing the icon, and found it apt to post it as my very first shot on Dribbble! It also happens to be my very first real application icon, so constructive feedback is more than welcome.
Special thanks go to J-P Teti for drafting me as a player.
You might consider removing the drop shadow that sits behind the bubble. You're trying to make it look 3d with a shadow under it on the ground and a beautiful background behind it. The drop shadow behind it just doesn't make any sense for the perspective you're trying to show and makes it look flat.
Made some revisions to Winter's icon based on recommendations by fellow players as well as others. There's now a subtle ice texture overlaid on the bubble, the reflective artifacts of the snowflake have been toned down, and the drop shadow that wasn't supposed to be in my previous shot is gone.
Which of these two iterations do you prefer? Personally I'm still leaning toward my first shot. The texture in this one seems to ruin most of it for me. But that could be just me.
