Working on web app UI redesign, what do you think?
I like it, but it feels too icon-heavy (which are beautiful btw).
I don't have a solution really, maybe make them smaller or remove the circles next to the user names?
Looks super light, which is really nice to have for a tooltip/dropdown type of thing. Also love the colors. Not sure about the typeface in the document list though. I know Photoshop is probably responsible for the rendering, but as I really want to read the file names, I would prefer a less tainted and more neutral typeface for the lists (or at leasts a typeface in which uppercase version of a letter doesn't differ that much from the lowercase version of a letter). Just my 2cents
Completely agree with @Yummygum (great feedback).
Yeah, probably for bad font rendering PS is responsible. And because of that rendering, it kinda ruins the whole simplified experience that you are providing with consistent icons and white base. Polishing the typeface will make a huge difference and it will completely improve overall experience by increasing readability.
Thanks for feedback guys,
gonna use avatars if user will provide one - for fonts, Photoshop rendering is topic for itself, looks way better on web :)
It'd be cool if Adobe actually sorted the font rendering out to match the web a little more. I tend to use "Sharp" antialiasing as I find it's a closer match and you get some color shift with the others. Saying that, I do most design in the browser these days. That has it's own issues though, mac vs windows webfont rendering etc. Getting the hinting right can take a while and many of the font services don't do a great job of it.
Great work, although the music and video filetype icons look slightly out of place with the other three (love 'em nonetheless)
Edit: just curious: are these arranged by timestamp or by user?
@Nikh By time, will post bigger view later to get better idea :)
You should have a time stamp for these notifications. The user will have no idea whether this happened 5 minutes or 5 days ago.
Nice Job. I would add a bit of space between the names and video dropdown.
@Piper Lawson There is no need to have timestamp displayed here - once you display the file there will be more info - the app is gonna be something different than it could look like from this shot :)
