So I've been working on the Projects screen for the FinalCAD iOS7 redesign. The idea for this screen is for each project to have their own 'Artists Impression' of what the finished project will look like. The user can swipe left or right through the projects then simply double-tap the screen to enter the project.
There are a number of options open to the user on the top-right also. Simply tapping the larger circle on the right will cause the icons to slide/fade/appear into place...also using the same parallax that you see on the iOS7 home screen.
The only question mark for me, is whether this is the best place to put the icons, and I wonder if there's a better place to put them that I'm missing.
@2x will give you a better thumbnail, full pixels will give you the screen.

I personally like the icon placement. Could you try experimenting by removing the white stroke above the bottom area? Nice job.
Really nice work Mike, big fan of the icons! Visually, I fear users may have trouble seeing the icons if the background image was to change?
Hey Harry, thanks for the feedback. You would be right, absolutely, but I might mask off the top part of the image, so that they always sit on a lighter background.
Also, the clients' clients will be providing images for use on the app, so stringent criteria can be used.
Really really nice Mike. How you finding designing for iOS7?
Sure looks like you've got the hang of it!
Hey @Ryan Murphy, thanks for dropping in! Yeah, I'm really liking designing for it, possibly more than iOS6...it's a different feel being flat, but you can do some really nice things with it.
How you getting on with RockPack? All well?
@Mike Beecham Yeah, its certainly a new experience, still think there can be a middle ground in there though. You certainly are doing nice things too.
Its going well thanks, just tweaking designs a lot now :)
Why not a single tap to enter the project? Double tap is usually used for zooming and you usually tap once to open apps / links etc.
@Jack Bingham It's a precautionary measure, in case someone tries to swipe a bit too hard and taps the screen instead...it's just one of those little things that's an easy win. We're not using a zoom feature in the app anyway, so wont be an issue.
