In progress logo work for a friend's mediation company. Thought it might be interesting just to take screenshots in Illustrator as I work through this first pass and stitch them together to show some process/thinking.
Mantras I've pulled out of the full brief to help guide things: strong but not dominating, mature but not antiquated, modern but not pretentious, smart but not condescending.
I think there's promising stuff here, but keen now to explore a mark specifically around the concept of resolution/joining or positivity/hope.

The late 30s early 40s look great. Also 54 looks great if a little a bit...hipster - http://laughingsquid.com/the-hipster-logo-design-guide-on-how-to-create-an-artisanal-logo/.
@Patrick Johnson Haha, yeah... I distinctly remember 54 being a bit of a frustration thing; felt like I just had to get that obvious next step out of my system.

Carried on grinding out variations on the monogram from the first batch of concepts. 01-08 just feel too aggressive. 12 onwards feel better, but putting any of these monograms into a containing shape feels like a hack; a tell-tale sign that something really just isn't working. Also, adding colour is cheating.
