    I like this style better. It has more elegance. My main concern is with the 'e'. A lowercase 'e' should be relatively easy to achieve. For the 'a', straightening its back a bit may help. I like the R/t look but, of course, the stroke of the bowl will need to be adjusted if going with the lowercase 'e'.

    These forms are definitely better and more recognizable than a mono-linear construction. My suggestion would be to continue the bowl of the R from 3 o'clock to about 7 or 8 o'clock then cut it off and start it back up midway between 10 and 11 o'clock.
