Why do all date pickers have to be squares and use Helvetica?

Nice! Great to see something different!
circles = win
nice idea... although, now your icon to expand the calendar is inaccurate ;-)
Cool idea, get outside of the box (literally).
because you can get more days in less pixels.
@Matt Ha! Didn't notice that!
I'm really fascinated by the tiny small caps day names. Gorgeous!
@Philipp: Good point ;)
I think it's because it looks more uniform and it's easier to scan with squares.
This is a great experiment but the negative space pattern left by the circles makes the calendar a bigger strain on the eyes in my opinion.
@Michael: I see what you are saying, however, a user picks a date in a few seconds, so I doubt that eye strain will be a valid factor.
I think the merit in keeping it looking custom to this project far outweighs the potential negatives.
There you go, maybe this calendar icon goes more in the line of the actual calendar.
@Juan: Thanks for the suggestion!
Np, it's creation of mine so don't worry for copyright etc ^^
looks awesome! love the circles
why would you need boundaries at all? you could use one only for the selected day. and a rounded bar for more than one selected day.
Circles! Just nice and better that the square one's
This is lovely - one thing which I love is that the day's date is highlighted nicely - far too many calendars make you scan hard to spot today's date!
keyboard shortcuts: ← previous shot → next shot L or F like
