I published my first post on Medium yesterday about tools, influence, and how important it can be to not let the latter control the former.

Very nice, Ryan. I used to be obsessed with acquiring the "right" tools. Shedding that limitation has been liberating. I hope you continue to share your thoughts.

Great advice! It was never MJ's shoes that made him fly.

I've actually really been enjoying writing with a super dull lead to get my thicks and thins lately.

FINALLY!! I couldn't agree with you more. I get very annoyed by the people who always chasing after tool and technology instead of investing their time in practice.

Fantastic! Very well put and I love the mountain climbing reference. Reminds me of people taking snapshots with dust-gathering $800 SLRs that don't come close to photos someone with a good (and well-practiced) eye can take with their phone.

  11. In a sort of "can't share much current work right now" stretch, so here's some more writing, since the response to my last post was pretty decent.
