Lectio App

Hello! 👋

In continuation with my 'Lectop App' series:

(If you want to understand more about the heart of the project, please read my first post for this project here 🤓: https://dribbble.com/shots/12086223-Lectio-App)

Page details:
1. News default page (extreme left) - Initially, 'Top global stories' where just text-squared boxes of small information. However, in my small usability testing, I observed many users taking little notice of the top layer as they tend to ignore it.

As I assess further, many users first impression falls under "Too much to handle" as they were many texts and they couldn't decide where to read first. Thus, naturally, they click on the biggest section which is the middle.

While taking note of that, I implemented new changes to the top section and re-designed it into the 'stories' format to engage better with users with a neat-er outlook overall. Although some users may not be interested in stories, there have been more users clicking on the top stories to find out information first as it has successfully engaged with users.

The Middle section of 'Covid-19 news updates' and 'Daily News' has remained more or less the same, where it is scrollable and shareable.

2. News notification (extreme right) - Another concern over the news features was the 'source'.

Some main questions I asked myself over time: Is it trustable? How is a newspaper source defined as verified? How to make sure accurate and correct information is being shared/viewed?

I included a notification that informs users what 'verified sources' means and in the hope to help different users with different preferences.

3. New details page (middle) - This is also in relation to the second point. When a user is not interested in a specific news source, users can choose to 'see less'.

This helps to curate more accurate information and personal experience for each user, allowing user to 'control' in a way.

Well, this is it for a breezy afternoon! Stay tuned!

🤓

I would appreciate any constructive feedback/ questions/suggestions and come show some! ❤️

Still working on my Behance so stay tuned for more detailed readings on some of my research + more behind the scenes visuals.
