Not sure about the red logo and the typography, looking for opinions and ideas.

As Chris said on twitter - make the red a little darker (maybe even just #ac2424?) and what if you were to do a REALLY thin solid drop shadow between the fancy shadow and the text? Just to make it appear darker...?

I love the textures and depth of the header elements. It reminds me of some classy white house type of building... but in the form of a website? lol I don't know, but it's awesome. But I'm not crazy about the logo either; it doesn't really fit the classy style of everything else... but maybe I'm just not creative enough for that kind of artistic irony ;-)

Thanks a lot guys, @Kate #ac2424 looks much better but still not sure about the red-ish logo. :)
Yes I'm trying to make something different - at least in terms of design - I'm just doing experiments to see how it goes.
@Jason I always start my designs using those kind of handwritten fonts but I always come back to Gotham hah!
