Lane Engineering Website Illustrations

25 years of living in Seattle, and I'm still connected to my NYC roots. In addition to being an illustrator, I run a small web design business in Seattle—Schildbach Design. Sometimes I'm fortunate enough to merge my two disciplines of business identity design and illustration. Lane Engineering, a full-service multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm, had me illustrate the banners and home page slide show for their WordPress website of which I designed and developed for them.

Each of these illustrations can be done in less than a day, except for the New York City skyline illustration which was an involved 4 day project. I felt this strong need to do the illustration for the city I was born in some justice. It started to look more to me like an art piece instead of an illustration for a website. Lane Engineering was generous in letting me expand the usage of the skyline illustration and make art prints of this seventh digital drawing. At the end of the project, the skyline illustration replaced the eighth illustration on the website about page. Lane Engineering can be found at: https://www.lecpc.com/

All of the other banner art have more of an editorial feel, such as this conceptual illustration on sound testing buildings and their environment. This piece is much like the published work I've been doing for magazines since the 90's!
