Needs a "Brought to you by the Oakland Board of Tourism" at the bottom :D

Comifornia is messed up in general, and I'll just leave it at that. To bad it's a very scenic state.
I live in Oakland. This is a sad graphic. In 7 years I have been caught up in any violence and I live downtown.
That's pretty ignorant, tasteless and classless for you to tag it a "Totally fucked up and Crime-Ridden City". Says a lot about you.
Where do you think I live?
For most of 2012 I heard gunshots at least once a week, sometimes within a half-block. About half my neighbors have had their houses broken into, sometimes multiple times. There are murders in my neighborhood regularly and there's gang and drug activity within a block or two of my home, every day.
I have participated in National Night Out, street clean-ups, and community meetings with the OPD and city officials.
So consider yourself fortunate. You weren't a victim like this: crimemapping.com Oakland, CA. Lucky you.
But don't assume I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.
If you have hate in your heart, let it out.
I also live in Oakland. My neighborhood is pretty similar. Second night after I had moved in I witnessed a mugging in progress directly in front of my house. A month later my roommates witnessed another one right in front of the house.
After all, it is the third most dangerous city in the US. Oy!
I live in Berkeley. I can confirm it's a totally fucked up, crime-ridden city, but I still love it. Believe me, Mark doesn't have hate in his heart -- he's a good dude and speaks the truth.
Well, to be fair, I do have some hate in my heart.
It's sad that I live downtown Oakland and I'm out every night and day and I don't see these things. I know bad stuff happens in every city... Maybe I'm lucky
The first time I ever went to Oakland, I literally saw a sideshow happening on the freeway. No cops, no law. It's like Tombstone pre-Wyatt Earp.
