Great shot! @Juan Arreguin
@Sergey Valiukh Thanks man, appreciate it!
Nice work @Juan
I like it!
Uhm... both attachments show the same picture? ;-)
EDIT: LOL nevermind. The thin separator lines are different.
Clean work buddy!
Looks really good homie
It's the 'done' button that's rubbing me wrong (kinda disappears). Besides that, looking good! Can't wait to see this in the wild.
Great stuff! I'm leaning towards the partial row separators because it's easier to skim the icons and it's more inline with Apple's own iOS 7 apps. The one struggle I have with it is that the cell rows look less tappable than in the iteration where the lines are full width. I'd try indenting the cell text 10-30 pts (20-60 pixels) further right to see if it makes that the cell area look more tappable.
Also, I agree with @Jared on the 'Done' button; Something about it seems off. Maybe make it bigger and add a darker tint to the blur effect…?
Love it!! The status bar in translucent over the image is a big win. The only thing that irks me is the font in the list at the bottom... It just seems too generic, and doesn't make this app any more unique. Or maybe it's just the grey background of the list - something is off there...
@Jared Erondu — Yeah have been testing this against all kinds of images/backgrounds and such, this is the one the "works" the best with other backgrounds, but yeah I agree, needs a bit more work and def needs to pop more, since it does fade into the background.
@Luke Bornheimer — Thanks! Well the "alternative" version, is what iOS does currently for their cells, but I see what you mean though. So I'll look into that.
@Daniel Jacob Archer — Thanks man, yeah will def play around a bit more on the background of the cells. And yeah, the font may need a bit of a refresh. :)
Looks great @Juan Arreguin! Some comments:
- 'Done' button is getting lost. I would try a purple fill with white or cut-out label.
- Make sure you check the location text, displayed currently in the bottom left of the photo, on a variety of photos as it might get lost at its current combination of size, color, and transparency.
- I like keeping with the iOS7 convention of not having table cell separators going all way to the left edge. Just enough separation and no more. :-)
@Lokesh Dhakar thanks! — awesome feedback! Will def look into that, and yeah I agree about the table cells. :)
Colors are awesome - love the manual option!
Dude Im into this. I would explore with the Done button. Looks great here, but is difficult to discover. Great seeing the iOS7 style done well.
@Dick thanks man — yeah the color is something I wanted to focus this time around. And adding the blurness was scary — since I never do that. But Being subtle and use it when needed is the approach.
@Joel Beukelman Thanks brother. Yeah the button is a bit of a pain, it worked 60% of the time. I'm def gonna have to explore it more.
Like the colors, size of the main image, typographic hierarchy and the radio styles.
Found that the done button was almost invisible, the location font was a little small to me*, and the header fonts were a tad light creating the need to make the other ones even lighter to compensate for hierarchy.
* - my opinion, worth as much as the time it took to create it.
'Hollow' icons are hard on the users because: https://medium.com/design-ux/a93647e5a44b
@Aubrey It really means a lot to hear your feedback, def will take that into account. I will take a round, too. with all the amazing feedback I've received from everyone. :)
looking slick, Juan. very clean, vibrant. couple questions for my curious mind :D is your purple/pink color a constant UIColor throughout the app, or is it generated from the profile image? i agree with others on the done button. i would try bringing down a blurred nav+status view, and placing the DONE above that (assuming this is a modal view controller). IMO, it's still early to make judgements on these types of interactions until 7 is out of beta. can't wait to see more.
I like both version but the only thing bothering me is the DONE button. Can you just make it a white outline similar to FB's? I think that is slick and simple.
First off - diggin' the colors.
Next, I'm going to go against a few comments and say that I hate the table separators not going all the way to the edge. It makes the side of the list with the icons feel heavy.
I'd also like for there to be more 'Huzzah!' branding to it. The colors are a good first step, but right now it feels like an iOS7 app; what you want is for it to feel like Huzzah! on iOS7. Subtle difference, but I think it will make a big difference.
@Ismael Burciaga AH! Great idea on that! — will def try that out. Thanks tocayo!
@David Stinnette Appreciate the feedback. I get where you're coming from about the huzzah branding, only thing about this is that this is a 'mid-process' step to get you into the app. So this is about building [your] profile. Then you enter the actual app. (more screens to come, soon). I'm going left/right with the table list view. So I guess we'll have to try both and see how they function on the actual app.
First thing I noticed is the icons, if I squint and blur my vision, they get lost in the background, I think there should be more contrast. Also the the other text is very close in color with the background.
This looks very good Juan
