I heard it's Middle Child day, so I thought I'd share this. I made this for a very exciting upcoming project that has nothing to do with middle child complex.

i love everything about this.
great colors as always!
great style pulled together with a solid color scheme! i saw something about middle child day that went something like "its middle child day, so it'll probably get overlooked" haha - nice job, though!
I need this as a poster!
Any chance you'll sell this as a print?
This is ridonk. Super awesome.
Is it hand drawn/coloured? On paper? All digital?
I especially love the natural edge everything has, without looking too effected.
I like how colorful it looks. Nice!
@Mary Kate McDevitt Nice Vintage Look!!! Border was amazing!!!
Really love the roughness and genuine feeling about this
As the youngest child i don't understand this ;)
Really great Mary, I'm very keen to see your work process, I'm pretty sure we'd all learn from you.
Keep it coming!
wonderfully fun and lively. i started collecting all your work. it is certainly distinctive. xo g
Your work is stupid good. And that's coming from a middle child. :)
hotness. middle child as well. shit sucks!
@Benjamin Allison Thanks! It's all hand drawn but the color is added digitally.
@e genevieve williams Thank you!
@Mary Kate McDevitt How large is the physical drawing? One thing I find tricky to nail down with hand drawn stuff is making it the right size so in the transfer to digital, rough edges are present but not so overwhelming that they seem like an "effect." The balance in this piece is perfect.
Also, was the original pencil, ink, marker? Sorry for all the questions you just spanked the crap out of that piece!
@Benjamin Allison It's about 4" wide, the same size as it will be produced. The original drawing is in ink. I like to use uni-ball vision pens, they draw nice and dark and I use a paper with a bit of a tooth to get a crunchy edge. The key is to have a clean, dark drawing to create a crisp scan with a hand-drawn look. No worries! It's a lot of trial and error so keep working it out to find what works best for you.
