Here's a poster I'm working on for AIGA Houston's Inside Job lecture series (which I'll be a keynote speaker at). I still might try a few things but it's getting really close.

You son of a gun.
Nice work. Powerful imagery.
This is great! I wish I could attend!
I'm still planning on trying out a few things including a halftone shadow, possibly pulling in the lines on the pencil to make it look more like a shooting bullet and also the lock-up at the bottom. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please share. Just try to keep it constructive. Thanks!
@Allan Peters This is super rad! Did you consider making it a stubby pencil where you can see the eraser and all. The proportions would be closer to a bullet and you could add in some lines or something behind it to show has fast it is!
@Bob Ewing SMART. I'll try that for sure. Thanks dude.
@Allan Peters No worries, I love stubby pencils.
Could always do a cutaway as well and show the other end of the pencil leaving the chamber inside the barrel? Too complicated for a poster, perhaps, haha.
I think the lockup at the bottom works nicely. Its balanced and works well as a footer.
pretty awesome. I think the halftone shadow would be a nice touch. it could give it just that minimal bit of depth. I don't think its lacking, but could be a great enhancement. Stellar work as always.
@Allan Peters I agree with pulling the lines out a bit.
I like the idea of adding a little motion to this with the shooting bullet.. The illustration is bad ass, but a pulled trigger, motion lines above and below the pencil, and the hammer thrown back will bring this to life. Could make a fun animated GIF too.
Thanks for the tips you guys. I made a few changes and sent it off to the printer. I'll post a final image of the print once I get it. Cheers!
Walther PPK, 7.65 millimeter. Only three men I know use such a gun. I believe I've killed two of them.

You'll shoot your eye out! Actually a high school buddy had a split
pupil because when he was a kid his brother put a pencil in one of those spring loaded rubber dart guns and... bullseye! True story.
@Tim Frame that's crazy! I've got two boys so that's my future.
