Note: I'm not affiliated in any way with St. Peter's Brewery. I don't work for them and never have. I just like the beer. All content and imagery belongs to them.
I've not sent anything on yet, though I've considered it. I think my reluctance is based on not knowing what kind of reaction I'd get. Do you think it'd be worthwhile? Would I have nothing to lose? Or would potential clients become angry and blacklist me?

Occasionally I indulge in fantasy redesign: take an existing site in need of a makeover and redesign it.
I find using existing sites encourages me to take a thorough approach to structure and and layout, making the best of what's already there.
I've found it a great way to learn how HTML5 and CSS3 can be used in active sites.
Here's a detail from the home page of a redesigned site for St. Peter's Brewery (http://www.stpetersbrewery.co.uk/).

Fantastic idea—and what a way to keep your skills sharp.
Do you send the redesigns to the company in the end?

I would send it. I can't imagine anyone would be so offended by enthusiastic feedback that they would launch a campaign against you.
Fantasy redesign sounds like a contest we should have on Dribbble. Hmmm, interesting.

Wow... what a fantastic idea. I remember Lloydy doing something similar with the bbc site... A contest sounds capital!
