I tried something new to present my work.
My current portfolio: http://nerval.ch/
What do you think? Is that the new version is better?

Previous version is a lot much nicer.
I like this new version. Colours, fonts, layout....
I really like how it scrolls sideways but don't enjoy that when you get to the project the scrolling pattern changes.
I'd recommend keeping the scrolling pattern consistent. Mouse scroll through the project gallery too with a callout at the end to return to your projects. Close the loop.
Other than that it's slick :)
@Ryan Le Roux You're right. But I do what I can with the development. I'm not very good with code ;) With this new version it will also be easier to make the site responsive.
You've obviously got a lot of great thought behind the design decisions you've made. You should talk more about these. The nice clean slideshow is cool but I would really like to view it more as a case study where you explain your conventions and process.
I did the site now, and this redesign looks good. My big issue is what you're using for thumbnails. It's super misleading. The second project makes it look like you worked design a website for the Avengers. Same for Fizzy Template. The previews are really deceptive and kind of make it look like you're taking credit for work you didn't do.
@Anthony Irwin Yes I know... But it is difficult to put an screenshot of the site. This is much less beautiful. I also think about this problem. If someone has an idea, I'm listening.
Yeah, thumbnails are an issue. Also, you have way to many ipads, macbooks, etc. on your side. Firstly they distract from the content, and secondly they are sometimes used in misleading ways. In the tumblr item for e.g. there is the half closed ipad, but it has nothing to do with a function relating to the closing of the lid. I would throw all this stuff out. The general portfolio is nice though.
In my opinion, this one is much better, old one is looking nice, no words on that, but maybe it's little time to switch it, so many people already discussed it and copied it, so it's time to fresh wave, isn't it? I love this new approach a lot, my only tip is to show 100% to me, only me :P
Good job man!
Nice colors and simple design, i wanna see more!!
You have a nice portfolio. Like your work
very very nice, dude!:)
Now that I dig into it I see a UX problem - you've changed the navigation workflow... That's a bit frustrating :/
If you want to make a case study for each project, so that's better I think :)
@Ilya Dmitruk Yeah, I think !
@Pierre Georges This is the simple, neater and SEO friendly version. The previous version is bold and impactful. This all depends upon your preference. Both looks great!
One more suggestion: Your present design is not responsive. In both the options try making your portfolio a responsive one.
@Axel Bouaziz Agree.
@Hemant This is partly why I made this new version ;) Responsive is very important !
Reminds me of the SquareSpace admin view. But looks good!
