Having the faint text in the background makes it hard for my poor little eyes to read this.
@Dan Cowley Thanks for the feedback, might have to make that a solid color on hover, even though it's soooo cool with the faded product shots in the background. :)
@Meagan Fisher If it's a hover ... just let it like that it works perfectly !

I think the transparency is fine if it's a dropdown overlay, though you could add a text-shadow on the white text that's the same color as the overlay background to give it a little more contrast with text directly underneath. (I can see it looking much better with straight images behind vs. text.)
Symbolicons always win.
@Dan Cowley Come on "Man sues Virgin.." how can you not read that? It's right there! (pun intended)
If you decide it's too hard to read, you might try blurring the image in the background slightly on hover. Looking forward to see it launch!
