I have been thinking of redoing my site along the following lines for some time now. It is very much a work in progress for now but would love to know your thoughts on this and any possible items about the current site I could improve.

Putting my vote in for the new one :-) I agree that featuring your work in a large image, front and center, is the way to go.

David, go with this concept. I'm telling you right now: it kicks ass. Your design work is fantastic, and you've had a big impact on the logo industry for years now, but your current site doesn't highlight those facts in the proper proportions.
The huge featured image section immediately says: "Look what I can do for you."
