When I applied to the Product and Design track at StartUp Institute Boston, with no design portfolio, they asked me to redesign one of their current un-styled inbound landing pages to show that I had some actual knowledge of design, and familiarity with relevant tools.
First time back in Photoshop after a 5 year hiatus... Definitely interested in critique.

Did you get the job?
@Isaac Girard Hey man! I'll try give you a few pointers. Firstly I would try inject a bit more colour into the design, then I would use a much cleaner font like open sans? The current font is a bit "scrunched" up together so I would increase the horizontal spacing a bit. The learn more looks a little outdated. I would try use a solid colour instead of the gradient and try use a bit less in your face colours for the background of the bar and button. Also "flat design" is very popular at the minute so try read up on that it will help. Also using icons to represent titles can help such as an envelope for an email etc. Finally the bottom part seems like its not connected so maybe try not use a box around it, maybe use a divider?
Sorry it's a lot just hope to help you out, anyway welcome back to design and welcome to dribbble :)
