Wanted to find something else for the hover and with the gradients and textures, it is not easy to create a good effect. Sometimes simple ideas are also good, no ?

One effect I like a lot, is adding a glowing light around the text on hover.. that's possible with a subtle white text-shadow

I'm not really fan of the embossed lines between each list items. I think that, just with the glowing effect, it could be right.

Hey Francis ! I really digg this !
Anyway you could try different things:
- Bold the text
- Move the text by few pixels on the right
- Add a very light white BG with an opacity that fades on the right edge
Just on the top of my head ! Hope that would be helpful !
