A paperclip for the lazy -- three copies of the same curve in three colors, and two stroke weights. Then offset thinner curves vertically by a half of stroke's weight and done.
Deliverable is at the bottom, the 8x zoom of the curves is at the top.

@Anders - Technically it's Inkscape, but, yes, it's a vector editor if that's what you mean. Top and bottom parts are the same vector, except the top one is 8 times larger.
