Working on a new fully-responsive design for my film blog - http://itsfilmtastic.co.uk

I always like when a search bar is near the top of a website. I just think personally, its easier to navigate that way rather than building and styling design around it. Also, i'm not keen on the rounded corners, i'd go full circular on the edges.
@j Yeah, I'm still toying with the search, your suggestions are exactly what I'm thinking of changing.
Also, toying with the idea of it going top right on the blog above the content you see on the shot.
Despite the menu looking good centered, I think you might come unstuck when you want to add more or even add a second column. Safer to left align?
I think @David Darnes is right about the left align on the menu. Also I think that the font size could go up a tad.
Regarding the search, I'm wondering if maybe a slightly transparent background might look better.
Looking really nice! Get it launched!!

I'm going to be working on coding tonight and playing around with @Kerry Moran's suggestion with it being transparent, then maybe fade into wide when active.
