@Ryan McLaughlin +1, that's a bit sad…
@Nicolas Torres I think it's sad to trash another designer's work. Especially without providing valid reasoning.
This looks like Mark's style and I like it. It just so happens Mark also designed Bootstrap, but so what? Many designers' works are similar in fashion and style.
@Joshua Sortino I dont trash it, I just say that I don't like Bootstrap, and imha it's not a model of good looking interface, and here we are, with thousands of websites using it — careful, Bootstrap is a powerful tool, I'm not arguing about that.
I understand what you say btw, but it still be strictly the same to me: http://cl.ly/image/2K1t321W3v1t
Sorry if I offended someone here.
It's like claiming a cubist painting by Picasso during the cubism movement is bland. Bootstrap is Mark's style, and so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Github has a similar aesthetic.
Github is a large platform and needs a scalable interface that can be implemented across many pages/layouts. Sure it's not the MOST appealing visually, but good design transcends layer styles.
In a moment, when I saw this shot, I've thought It's from Bootstrap. So yes. This actually is Bootstrappy. And yes it's sad a bit because it's odd to make all sites looking same, utilizing same overall style, same colors, same typeface... I don't have nothing about the style. I like it, but also I think github deserves something a little more rememberable.
