I've always thought this improvement would be implemented in Instagram one day.
Just like Vsco Cam does it, hold the picture to show the original without the selected filter, instead of the current long and boring scroll (imagine the case with the filter "1977"...).
Would be better for a quick preview in my opinion.

What if you have a blur on the thing
@Prekesh Chavda I think the point is to get rid of all edits so that you can compare to the original.

@Ido Vock If you have a blur activated, tapping anywhere on the photo adjusts the blur. Changing this functionality for 120 million users would be disastrous.

@Dan Lebowitz You're right! The second solution would be the same idea, by pressing the filter's thumbnails.
Good idea! Also I am missing possibility to change filter intensity.
