Ongoing concept, exploring options with nav/search and social area on blog with use of the trusty diagonal line

Excited to see how this plays out. Looking great!
I ♥ diagonals lines. Looking forward to see this in context!
This is a pretty rad concept
Thanks guys, be sure to update with more, as and when i can. Actually good to see it out of context as a few alignment issues which are now noted.
Dude. This is awesome! Diagonals across primary elements are very rare on the web. I love how well this is executed.
Thanks Brian, i agree you don't see it too often, be nice to get it all the way to the live site but that's about 4 months off, so we will see haha
works extremely well on the eye.
Thanks again, I love you all from the bottom of my heart!
Great style Leigh - how will the drop-down work with the corner cut off like that?
@Josh Still up for debate at the minute, i have a few different ideas but one will be picked dependant on the dev guys' imagination.
Wow. This is pretty original. I would love to see the whole composition.

Forgot to put the dark version up. Which do you prefer?

I think it's a great concept and well executed. My only observation (not criticism!) is that it produces an optical illusion where the yellow section seems taller than the search box. That also happens on the rebound with the rss section.
Thanks Andy, it is noted. There are a few more brand colours and variations to try out so will be sure to keep that in mind as it is just concept stage at the minute.
Amazing work - I love it :D
the magnification glass in the search box seems too close to the diagonal line, compared to all the other elements.
Good spot Evan, have a 6 day design refinement booked in a week on Monday so these little touches will all go on the to-do list. Shame I can't share more (any ref of brand) loving the amount of feedback.
Anyone want to sign an NDA to review & critique the other 17 concepts/9 brands - joking! Haha
now this is how you reinvent navigation. beautiful work.
Thanks Kyle, just sent all concepts to the client this evening so lets hope it stick #fingerscrossed
if they know what's good for them they'll move forward with it!
really cool! :D
