In case anyone else is wondering where my site is now, im trying to recover data.
Thanks to the hacker who exposed a flaw in the CMS I use.
I DO NOT hold Harry or Alex Newman who's twitter name is randomly now on posts throughout the blog pages, responsible.
http://cl.ly/1G081R0x0W2N2o2t0z3m I have heard from Harry, stating that he had nothing to do with what has happened, nor does he condone the behaviour.
I have removed my subsequent comments from the thread.
Apologies again to Harry Roberts, and I truly hope he finds work (he is looking you know http://csswizardry.com/2011/02/hire-me/).
@James perhaps rebound @Harry's shots with added noise to make it in keeping with 90% of other shots :P
Yes I do use noise, i am seeking counselling for this ;)
"Bloody hell @Harry, that post was taken from wikipedia" , that makes it ok then. Funny really, as the first paragraph is a copy + pasta job directly from Harry's post.
Got a reference to the wikipedia article you plagiarised from? You don't seem to have a link in your post.
I'm pretty certain I don't need to defend myself here but it's pretty obvious that this is not from Wikipedia.
1) Wikipedia does not host such content (a quick Google search will show you this)
2) If I had copied this from Wikipedia I think one of the hundreds of people who have seen your public shaming would have most likely noticed this as well as you.
3) If you'd never seen or heard of me before I'm curious as to how you happened upon a Dribbble shot by me that—at the time of you commenting—had only 25 or so views.
4) It seems you also copied an article by @sazzy, too: http://twitter.com/mattberridge/status/34599992417058816

That's okay, I don't want to work for you, you copied a large part of my article:

Lol, I like it, it's using clever design to stand out from the crowd to send a message. Job done.
Although I can now only see 3 designs featuring noise effects on my everyone page. This won't do!

Hm, after this Ian, I think it'll be a case of noone hiring you.
Innovate don't imitate good sir!

there*
Confusing these simple words when writing a post is probably one of the reasons why Ian seems to plagiarize most of his blog.
Meh is not a sufficient excuse for butchering the English language.

Right now I don't care much who's plagiarizing who.
Spamming the everyone feed with shots like this is just poor form. Let your work get you hired.
Dribbble isn't a place for free advertising. It's a place "to show what [design] they are working on"

Good call, Brian. But c'mon. Ian exposing himself as a plagiarist is far more interesting, no?

Don't you think Wikipedia would have this already indexed?

Speaking of imitation... http://dribbble.com/JohnONolan debuted this technique on dribbble did he not?
No offense meant. It's just this was the second time I've seen this and didn't know if it happens a lot on dribbble.

Yeah I've been shown that since, Paul. But then I never passed this idea off as being entirely my own… ;)
