After a sleepless night recreating the iOS7 AirDrop pop-up, I decided to spend some time tonight working on my own version of the iOS7 icons before I hit the hay.
There has been a lot of talk about a "backlash from designers," but personally, this is just an excuse to have some fun and recreate something that reflects my own personality. I'm looking forward to seeing what inspires others.
Enjoy the concept and let me know what you think!

I really like the maps icon, definitely my favourite. What are your thoughts on the signal icons? I think they resemble 'screens' too much, but I guess I'll get used to them. Good work as always!
Jury is still out on the signal icons @Callum. I think I like it, it hasn't actually crossed my mind that it resembles page cues. I think I'll grow to love them.
I feel that the calender and notes app might get easily confused.
Good spot @Lochie! I wasn't sold on the calendar icon, so I'm going to re-create that after some Z's. I need sleep, too much iOS7 excitement for one day.
@Zane David @Lochie Axon I think I like the calendar icon more than the notes icon - maybe just change the colour of the notes to yellow?
YES! This is by far the best redesign I've seen yet. You missed the tip of the pencil in the appstore icon though ;)
@Rodrigo Grundig Wow, that's too kind! Oh I did, I really need that sleep haha.
Agree, one of the best redesigns so far.
The most beautiful so far. Love it!
Like it more then the original version!
This is what I wanted it to be.
You fixed it!
Excellent work. 1000 times better. This needs to be implemented by Apple.
I'm with @Ricardo Salazar and @Rui Nunes . You spent a night, but they had a months and slept through them..
Absolutely blown away by your comments! Thank you! @Angel Bartolli @Rob Haynes @Rui Nunes @Eddy Gann @Rob Vloemans @Pedro Gandra @Ricardo Salazar
Great work indeed, much more harmonious than the original. I'd make the striped top part of the Videos icon as tall as the Notes' and Calendar's nav bars though.
@Angel Bartolli It's a big departure at least, changing things in a enterprise the size as theirs. With a team I'm working with - on a company of 30 ppl - we have huge design-by-committee problems that interfere with the overall final outcome. I can only imagine with Apple, since all these design changes spread over to developers and their often inertia to refactor and pickyness to have everything specified in countless docs.
@Rui Nunes , I'm sure they work according to modern quality standards and have experts who know at least Six Sigma and Deming Cycle. However, I'm not a big expert on quality standard, but I wanted them to be more responsible.
perfect colours and icons! much better than the terrible original by the apple team.
All of Apple's money and talent can't compare to the work solo dribbblers do "just for fun".
Great work, I'd like this to be my UI instead of the current one.
